Being an adult sucks!
Yes I have managed to put myself in another situation...Well last year my cousin Danny was sent to Ft.Gordon to serve his last 4yrs in the army he's a LPN at our Army hospital here, well I told him to try and get me a job working at the hospital because I knew I could make better money and have opportunities to rise up in the hospital, Im not sure if yall know my profession but Im a Medical Billing Specialist ( yes thats my "official" title I busted my butt in school to earn that title and I use it) Well he called me 2 days ago and said email me your resume' there's a job opening I want to try to get you into well I was busy with the baby and didn't ask questions I just did it, so yesterday morning he calls me and says hey I got your resume' and Im going to talk to the Colonel about it and Ill call you back, again I didn't ask any questions because Lil man was sleeping so therefore so was I, well he calls back in like 30 min and said Guess what its yours if you want it! At this point I sat straight up waking up the baby and was excited beyond everything you could imagine this is something I've been waitn on since I graduated in 04', and its not something that comes along again for awhile, I couldn't believe it me good luck? Oh my God! I didn't know what to say or do its not something that could happen to me! So we start discussing the conversation, he said Yea I went and talked to her showed her your resume' and she said if your recommending her and looking at her resume' then tell her she doesn't need and interview tell her she's got it to please start ASAP!! So im like WOW HOT DAMN!! So we start talking about the job 1st its not Billing, the title is " Ward Clerk" for those of you who don't know what that is, I would be doing all the admitions and discharges and handling the files ect ect, I know its not Billing which is a bummer because I worked hard for my degree but the plus side is if it comes open my foot is in the door and mayby I can get it, so then he tells me the pay which is around 8 to 10 k more than what im making now, so im like wow it just gets better and better!! more money for less work! So then we get to the hrs and I hang my head ...Mon-Fri 3pm-11pm DAMN IT!!!!!!! Why does everything seem so good it cant be true? It always happens to me! I just cant have the "perfect" thing Ive come to accept that Im gonna get a let down no matter what, How could I possibly pull that off? My kids get out of school at 2:30 so Ill only see them before they go to school and weekends and the daycare I picked out for Lil Man closes at 6pm, so I told him there was no way I could pull that off, so he tells me to see what I could do and call him and let him know that he would understand, so I discussed it with Chris and my Mom and they both told me to take it Chris doesnt see any negatives at all and my Mom said she could keep him until she goes to work at night and my sister n law said she would keep him when Mom leaves for work or whenever Mom needed her to help out which takes care of the baby but then theres my oldest 3, and my girlfriend pointed out that school will be out in a month and half and ill see them all day until I go to work so after weighing the pros and cons it seems like that it'll work plus Chris is going back to school and when he graduates ( in a few mnths) he's gonna get a job during the day so he'll have the baby at night, so I called my cousin this morning and told him Ill take it but I have to give work 2 weeks notice so he told me to wait before I do and let him make sure that its still open since I didnt call yesterday so now I sit here and wait... Which the longer I sit I have the little feeling in the back of my head you know the one that says something is just not right? Mayby its the fact of change I dont know... Ive never been good with it, I hate change, but I know this is a great chance for me to go somewhere with my career and in the long run will be the best...
